Question???
Are these cable ends compression connectors??? WB tech seems to think they are "radial crimp" connectors. Installer says they are compression connectors.
They are labeled "ANTEC D60405".
Larry's Wild Blue Satellite Installation (Nov 1, 2005)
This is a list of issues addressed by Wild Blue corporate management (their responses in red) on Nov 1, 2005.
1. Is cable approved by
WildBlue? Can not verify this cable,
but more to the point most white cable is not UV rated which is not acceptable
2. Pressure screw used for ground connection on TRIA (very bad)
Must Return and Ground properly, tighten pressure
screw
3. Wrong connectors on cable , should be compression fittings , not
crimped (there seems to be disagreement on this, pictures provide more detail
and fitting part number) Radial crimp not to be used,
replace all connectors.
4. Ground block should be as close to point of entry to the home as possible.
Where would that be given that the cable enters through the roof attic vent???
Entry point not a concern, grounding
block is not required to be close to entry point, what is required is that the
grounding run can not exceed the cable run in length.
5. Reflector not grounded to the TRIA Needs to be
grounded
6. Ground wire from block to ground source over 20 ft should be #6 wire not #12
Open for discussion
7. Stays or the mount braces should be on down slope of the roof from the dish
,not the up slope.
8. No weather seals on outdoor fittings. Compression
connectors do not need weather seals

Cable close-up.
Incorrect grounding???
Ground connected at incorrect location. Should be at the threaded hole with a screw.
White ground wire attached to left side of grounding block is 12 gauge and is over 20 ft. long to ground. Ground wire from TRIA should be bonded to dish bracket.
